At John Jasper Care we are committed to supporting people with behaviours that challenge in a way that is safe, respectful and person-centred. That’s why we use Team Teach – a widely recognised, award-winning and accredited approach to behaviour support and de-escalation training.
What is Team Teach?
Team Teach is a holistic behaviour support training framework used in education, health and social care settings. It focuses on understanding behaviour as a form of communication and equips staff with practical skills to prevent, reduce and safely respond to distressed or challenging behaviour.
Accredited and Award-Winning Training
Our Team Teach programme is part of an accredited training provision, independently assessed and quality-assured, and has received prestigious recognition including a UK National Training Award for outstanding achievement in training and development.
Focus on Positive Support and De-escalation
Team Teach places emphasis on proactive strategies to build positive relationships and support individuals effectively. Around 95% of the training focuses on understanding behaviour triggers, communication and de-escalation techniques, with physical interventions taught only where absolutely necessary and always as a last resort.
Tailored Training with Our Own In-House Trainers
At John Jasper Care, we enhance this recognised model by delivering it through our own Team Teach accredited in-house trainers. This means:
Training is customised specifically to the needs of the people we support.
Our carers receive consistent and relevant guidance aligned with our values and practice.
We can adapt content and delivery so it better reflects the real situations and behaviour support needs within our services.
Ongoing support and refreshers can be delivered promptly to maintain confidence and competence across our team.
By investing in our own trainers, we ensure that Team Teach principles are fully embedded in our organisational culture, delivering better outcomes for both our staff and the people in our care.
Supporting Better Outcomes
Through quality training that builds confidence, enhances communication, and promotes consistency, we strive to create environments where behaviour is understood, supported positively and managed safely — improving experiences and outcomes for everyone involved.
We use Team Teach level 1 and 2 in specific services we provide but not all of them.
Team Teach level 1 is mostly theory based and focuses on positive behaviour support for individuals supporting children, young people and vulnerable adults in low-risk Education and Health and Social Care settings.
What are the results of level 1 training?
What are the results of level 2 training?
This training is provided for services where individuals pose a greater physical risk to themselves, other people and property.
A Professional Health & Social Care Service Provider.
